BC Day Holiday

Monday, August 2nd, 2010 is BC Day, a provincial holiday here.

The office will be closed that day to celebrate the holiday.

I’ll be back in on Tuesday morning for regular hours.

On a personal note: I’m taking the holiday as a chance to go out on my motorcycle for a mini road trip. I’m heading off south for Idaho and Montana. So if you see a round-ish, middle-aged lady with long grey hair zooming by on a blue BMW, that’s me. Please wave to say Hi!

Please note that some orders will be delayed in shipping as a result.

Thank you for your understanding as I attempt to work around both business & family responsibilities, and statutory holidays, which all seem to have landed on top of each other this month.

Orders slow for a couple of days

This is just a quick note to let you know that orders are going out a bit slower than expected the last couple of days. Matt is covering the office while I’m away on vacation. However, his regular job called him in for extra shifts, so he’s been trying to juggle both the last couple of days. As a result the orders missed cutoff on Friday and with Monday a statutory holiday in BC (no post), that has slowed everything down. He’s hoping to get caught up tomorrow, but I just wanted to post an update to let you know what is going on.

Office closed Apr 20 to 25, 2010

Hi just a quick note to let you know that I have to be out of town for the rest of the week. Office hours will be as usual again next week.

Update on my mom

Added Mar 13th.

My mom passed away on Tuesday this week. She went in her sleep, and is finally free of the cancer and the pain. She will be missed.

I expect to be back in the office next week. Not sure what the hours will be yet – I’ll see how it goes.

An update on my mom.

She’s been moved to a hospice and we don’t expect to have her with us much longer. The cancer has become very aggressive in the last week or so. I’ve been out of town for most of last week to be with her and my family and although I’m just back home today I expect to be leaving again within the next few days.

My son is taking over filling orders for me while I am gone, but as he’s new to things it may take a bit before he has it all down pat. However, orders will be going out from the office. Your best bet is to place orders online and if you have any questions please send them by email. That way I can answer any that he can’t, even if I’m still out of town. Between the two of us we’ll do our best to get things sent out in a timely fashion in spite of the upheaval around here.

Business Hours will be irregular for a while.

I will be having very irregular business hours for the next while. My mother is extremely ill with cancer and is in the hospital where my parents live. This is a days drive for me and so it takes a while to get there to see her – meaning that my trips over to see her take at least 3 days.

Until further notice I will not be having regular office hours. I don’t know when I may be called on to go to her and when I do I’m basically dropping everything to go.

Orders will still be going out as my husband is filling those for me while I’m away, but it’s very possible that no one will be here to answer the phone. I will be checking email in the evenings, so that is the best way to reach me.

I apologize for any inconvenience, but I’m sure that you will understand that my being able to spend time with my mother is more important right now.

Blip in site today is fixed.

We had a minor problem with the site today – some of the items weren’t posting properly to the cart. This was due to some other work that was being done on the site and not an inherent problem. It’s now been fixed.

Otherwise everything has been very stable and working as it should.

Finally, I’m able to tell you that the site is up and running – and it’s working great!

And, we now have Canadian and US Dollar pricing. You can change from one to another with an easy link on every page – at the top right of the menu bar.

Site Coming Soon…

Hi, bet you weren’t expecting to see the blog when you typed in my URL! Sorry about all the hassle with the site. I tried to get the upgraded one working and it just wan’t going to go. So, I’ve hired someone to make a whole new site. So far, so good and we are hoping to have it online in the next couple of business days.

In the meantime I am still taking phone orders and I will be in and out of the office all weekend. So leave a message at 888-945-5695 and I’ll get back to you. You can still see our entire catalogue online at: http://gallery.me.com/jodibeamish#100041 .

Update on Site

This site change has been the most difficult yet. Unfortunately I haven’t solved the problems yet. I’m still trying to get the shipping working and am waiting on new connections for cc payments.

So, for now the site is online for viewing only. You will NOT be able to place orders online. I can take orders by phone (numbers are on the site). I only have one line, so if you get a busy signal or the voicemail please leave a message and a phone number where you can be reached and I’ll get back to you asap.

Again, my apologies for the site. I had hoped the upgrade would make things work smoother, but I’m learning in the world of internet commerce that is a rare and wonderful thing on a limited budget. So, for now I’m just trying to either get this one working properly or find one that will as soon as I possibly can.
